Mewniverse is actually a fictional website that I am creating for my own characters.

It is a product of the very specific internet subculture that I spent my formative years in. I have had this story and its many OCs for quite a while and it was always intended to be heavily influenced by 2000's internet culture. It takes place in a timeline where cats have taken place as the dominant species after the extinction of humans; but that is all I will go into here. I would rather tell the rest in a more interesting way.

When I was younger I spent most of my time in the online communities that was a mix of Warrior Cats fans and furries, but not quite either exactly. It was mostly made up of teenagers with sparklecat/dog/etc. characters that represented themselves. This is basically if the people behind the screens really were the characters they drew themselves as. This was partially inspired by comics such as Sparklecare Hospital and Preeny has to Repeat 6th Grade; which you should definitely also check out if you have time. It's been many years since I've read them but I believe they are still updating.

I've wanted to make a webcomic or even game about this concept for a while; years now, most likely. In the past month I discovered Hypnospace Outlaw which is one of the greatest games I have ever played. (I'm also using some hypnospace music for placeholder music for now since I love it so much, until I get around to making my own.) If you enjoy NeoCities you will also love it and I reccommend it to everyone here. It is what inspired this idea; making GeoCities-esque websites for my characters and setting. It fits the aesthetic I had in mind perfectly, and is a perfect way to integrate the Internet which plays a large part in the concept itself. So here it is, it's really just a very personal art project that is entirely just based around my own internet nostalgia with some inspiration from a few different places on top of it. It's still very heavily under construction; I'll probably never really stop updating it though. I do intend to write that comic in the future but for now this is all I really have time for. Maybe someone other than myself will find it interesting, so explore all you want if you happen to find this place.

This is the only page that is noncanon; the "Author's Note" basically. Otherwise, all pages are effectively part of the fake webhosting network.
